This presentation takes a close look at the malaria situation in Afghanistan and how it connects with patterns seen across the Easter Mediterranean Region. It will start by exploring the national and provincial data to understand where malaria remains most intense, when transmission peaks, and what factors drive these patterns, then walks through how Afghanistan’s malaria program is structured, and finally outline key opportunities and action points that can make the biggest impact now.
