The JCOIN Geospatial Consortium & Community of Practice (GCCP) is organizing the technical workshop: Intro to spatial data in R.

This session introduces core skills in mapping, geocoding, and linking health and community data using R. Learn how to work with spatial formats, point data (like clinics or case locations), and polygons (like census tracts or health regions)—all essential for place-based health analysis.

This workshop is designed for:

  • Health researchers & practitioners working with geographic data
  • Those interested in social determinants of health or public health mapping
  • Anyone with basic file management skills (some R is helpful, but not required)
