African Immunobiology of Parasites, Pathogens,and Pathogenesis (AFRIBOP) 2026 course

The African Immunobiology of Parasites, Pathogens,and Pathogenesis (AFRIBOP) 2026 course will take place March next year in Cape Town.

The course, hosted by Stellenbosch University and supported by the University of Glasgow, The Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Programme and the KEMRI Wellcome Trust IDEAL training programme and Pwani University, offers an expert symposium on advances in immunobiology of parasites, pathogens, pathogenesis, and grant writing. 

Date: 16th – 20th March 2026

Venue: The Devon Valley Hotel, Stellenbosch, Cape Town

The week-long course consists of intensive interactive learning sessions and symposia on the latest advances in immunology, immune diseases and the consequences of chronic immune activity on human health. The parasitology of malaria, HIV, TB, helminths, HPV and other viruses, including COVID-19, will also be covered.  

Eligibility: Priority will be given to early-career researchers and clincians with a PhD or beyond.

Course Registration: The course is free for participants and includes accommodation, meals and student travel.
