Why is zoonotic malaria resurgence occurring only in certain regions?

Objectives

This study aims to clarify the reasons why zoonotic malaria re-emerged only in certain areas through surveys of residents, vector mosquitoes, and the malaria parasites they carry, and to propose new malaria infection control measures tailored to each area.

Rationale and Abstract

Zoonotic monkey malaria parasites have attracted attention as an emerging infectious disease in Southeast Asia, and are an obstacle to the eradication of malaria. Recently, monkey malaria has been re-emerged in certain areas of Vietnam.
