Technical Tutorial – ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro

This course introduces ESRI software. ArcMap for Desktop and ArcGIS Pro are widely used GIS software packages developed by ESRI with a vast array of functionalities from spatial data analysis, data integration and visualisation. The software is licenced, but a free trial can be accessed for 60 days.

Learning objectives:

• Describe what GIS is;
• Describe how to set up a GIS project;
• List the steps in creating a simple map;
• Understand what classifying data does to the data; and
• Create a map.
