Malaria Molecular Surveillance with the AmpliSeq assays

The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) and the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia  are organizing the workshop: Malaria Molecular Surveillance with the AmpliSeq assays.

This workshop will cover topics on the application of the novel next generation sequencing (NGS) AmpliSeq assays for malaria molecular surveillance. The workshop will feature both lectures and practical sessions (library preparation and bioinformatics analysis) with international speakers. A surveillance network across participants and institutions from malaria endemic areas will allow the future implementation of these assays and their contribution to malaria elimination efforts in their countries.

Early career scientist, PhD students or research assistants are encouraged to participate. Preferably, the participants should have previous experience in molecular biology techniques, R and Unix. A poster presentation will be required.

Funding:

The course has no registration fee, but participants are expected to cover their own travel costs and local hospitality. A limited number of grants covering accommodation and local expenses during the course will be provided to selected early career participants from ICGEB Member states.
