The Academy of Public Health Call for Applicants: 2025 Young Professionals in Public Health
The Academy of Publich Health (APH) opens the applications for the 2025 Young Professionals in Public Health (YPPH) programme.
The Young Professionals in Public Health Programme (YPPH) is an initiative to nurture and empower young individuals interested in the field of public health. The programme aims to equip participants with the necessary skills, knowledge, and networks to become effective public health leaders in West Africa. The program is specifically designed for young professionals who have recently graduated or are early in their careers in public health. It provides a platform for them to enhance their understanding of public health principles, develop practical skills, and engage in hands-on experiences through a range of activities and opportunities. There are 3 different programmes:
The Design, Equity, Action and Leadership Fellowship (DEAL):
- Ages band 30-40 years with minimum of 5 years’ post- graduation or 3 years with a master’s degree.
Health Literacy and Leadership Programme (HLLP):
- For ages 25-35 years.
- This programme trains young emerging public health leaders and journalists to become strong voices and leading advocates to grow health literacy as a pillar of public health education and information to accelerate the movement towards universal health coverage.
Virtual Internship Programme (VIP):
- An online innovative programme which is conducted mostly for recent graduates as opposed to face-to-face internship in public health, as its key functions are remotely done and training conducted online. It aims to improve youth access to health education as well as increased health literacy profile of the region.
