RBM-VCWG Art Competition

The RBM Vector Control Working Group (VCWG) is setting up an art competition as a creative, thought-provoking, and fun way to celebrate the 20th anniversary.

This art competition seeks to highlight the impact of vector control on malaria in Africa over the past two decades. We invite artists from the VCWG community to create original artwork that reflects the following themes:

  • The burden of malaria: How has malaria affected communities in Africa? What are the social, economic, and health impacts of the disease?
  • The role of vector control: How have ITNs, IRS, and other vector control interventions helped to reduce the burden of malaria?
  • The human impact: Show the positive impact of vector control on the lives of individuals, families, and communities.
  • The challenges and successes: What are the ongoing challenges in the fight against malaria? How can we ensure that vector control continues to be a successful strategy in the future?

Artwork Guidelines:

  • Medium: We welcome submissions in a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media.
  • Originality: All artwork must be original and created specifically for this competition.
  • Interpretation: Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme in their own unique and creative way.

Prizes:

  • The top 3 selected artworks will receive prizes, and the artwork will be showcased at the VCWG meeting.
  • Details of the prize awards will be shared soon.
