PAMCA Call For Applications: Women in Vector Control Mentorship Programme ‘LiftHer2’ (Cohort III)

Recognizing the transformative power of mentorship, the Pan-African Mosquito Control Association (PAMCA) proudly opens applications for the Third Cohort of its “LiftHer2” Women in Vector Control (WiVC) Mentorship Program.

This esteemed initiative is dedicated to empowering women in the field of vector-borne disease (VBD) control and enhancing their leadership capacity and career advancement. It seeks both seasoned mentors and aspiring mentees across the African continent. The LiftHer2 mentorship program is a structured platform for knowledge transfer and professional development that fosters impactful partnerships between experienced leaders and emerging WiVC professionals. It aims to shape the future of VBD control with a gender-equitable lens.

Objectives:

  1. To roll out a structured and robust mentorship program focused on African women in VBD control.
  2. To promote personal and professional development through knowledge transfer, and experience sharing from skilled women in VBDs in Africa and the diaspora.
  3. To empower and instill confidence in the work done by women in VBD control.

Eligibility:

Mentees’ Eligibility

  •  Applications are welcome from women who are actively engaged in VBDs control initiatives.
  • The programme is only available to Africa-based career women in VBDs whose country of residence and citizenship is in Africa.
  • Duly subscribed PAMCA members in the year 2024. If not already a member, applicants must apply to become members. PAMCA Membership is open to all those with an interest in the field and the Association.         

Mentors’ Eligibility

  •  Applications are welcome from women who are actively engaged in VBDs.
  • The programme is open to mid and senior-career women in Africa and the diaspora.
  • Applicants are encouraged to register as a PAMCA member in the year 2024. PAMCA Membership is open to all those with an interest in the field and the Association.
