Dr Gemma Turon, co-founder and CEO of Ersilia will be presenting on ‘Open source AI/ML for infectious disease research: lessons learnt from the field’. The Ersilia Open Source Initiative is a research-oriented non-profit aimed at equipping laboratories in low-income countries with artificial intelligence (AI) tools for infectious disease research. In this talk, Dr Turon will describe their computational approach and infrastructure, discussing how they believe AI/ML can transform drug discovery in resource-constrained settings and contribute towards a more egalitarian world of biomedical research.
