APMEN TechTalks webinar “New Developments in Indoor Residual Spraying”

The Asia Pacific Malaria Elimination Network (APMEN) are delighted to extend a cordial invitation to the upcoming APMEN TechTalks webinar titled “New Developments in Indoor Residual Spraying“. It is organized by the APMEN Vector Control Working Group.

Insecticide-Treated Nets (ITNs) and Indoor Residual Spraying with insecticides (IRS) are the two primary vector control tools recommended by the World Health Organization for combatting malaria. While ITNs are globally preferred due to cost and labour factors, IRS still accounts for an estimated 13% of malaria cases averted in Africa where transmission is most intense, according to a 2016 publication by Bhatt et al. IRS is also a better option in particular situations, and sometimes the only option. Our expert panel will provide insight into the decision-making regarding IRS, best practices, and the latest developments around the use of IRS.
