9th Genomic Epidemiology of Malaria Conference
Wellcome Connecting Science is pleased to announce the 9th Genomic Epidemiology of Malaria conference. This meeting provides a common forum for malaria scientists, clinicians, and public health professionals working at the interface of genome science and technology, epidemiology and statistical and population genetics, with an interest in understanding the clinical and biological consequences of genome variation in malaria-exposed populations. The conference will bring researchers from across the globe working on various aspects of human, parasite and mosquito genetics together with policy makers to focus on how new biological insights can be used to control malaria.
Date: September 18 – 20, 2024
Place: Hybrid (virtual & Welcome Genome Campus, UK)
Programme:
Discussions and presentations will focus on:-
- Spatiotemporal genomic epidemiology of parasites and vectors
- Drug, diagnostic and insecticide resistance
- Global response to biological threats – translation and policy implications
- Genomic studies of species interactions
- Extending the malaria data toolkit towards a genomic analysis ecosystem
- Transmission and genetic surveillance of malaria: new methods, analyses and resources
- Vector and parasite species of emerging importance
Important dates:
- Bursary deadline – June 4, 2024
- Abstract deadline – June 4, 2024
- In-person registration deadline – August 13, 2024
- Virtual registration deadline – September 10, 2024
