WACCBIP Call for Applications: Combatting Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) – Genome sequencing and Bioinformatics Workshop
The West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP) with support from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is organizing a two-week Genome Sequencing and Bioinformatics workshop with a focus on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).
Date: February 19 – March 1, 2024.
Place: WACCBIP, University of Ghana, Accra, Ghana.
The course aims to equip participants with the requisite skills to access, analyse, and display genomic data with a focus on antimicrobial resistance studies. This programme will provide hands-on training in Genome sequencing and computational tools for the identification of AMR markers in bacterial genomes. Participants will acquire basic and advanced techniques in Genome Sequencing while getting familiar with computer command line tools and handling of genome sequences.
The two-week course is open to applicants who are engaged in relevant research and clinical activities.
