AMMnet Call for Applications: Training of Medical Entomologists in Modeling
The Applied Malaria Modeling Network (AMMnet) calls for applications to the Training of Medical Entomologists in Modeling.
Date: October 5-6, 2023
Place: OCEAC conference hall, Yaounde, Cameroon
Objective: Develop modeling skills within medical entomologists and strengthen the network between medical entomologists and modelers. The language of training will be French and/or English.
Content:
- Tracking the mosquito juvenile and adult populations
- Estimating population basic reproductive rate(r0) for mosquitoes and for human malaria
- simulating mosquito population dynamic and insecticide resistance spread
- Estimating the impact of insecticide-based interventions
Eligibility:
- Be a member of AMMnet (link)
- Master, PhD, or full researcher level
- Carryout research on vector borne diseases
How to apply:
- Letter of motivation (less than 1 page)
- Letter of support for MSc students
- Short statement of how you will use the training for your research (no more than 300 words)
- CV (3 pages max)
- A statement indicating the level in modeling or statistics (no more than 200 words)
