ICGEB Call for Applications: Workshop “Genomic Approaches in Understanding Vector-Borne Parasites”

The International Center for Genetic Engeneering and Biotecnology (ICGEB) is calling for applications a workshop on “Genomic Approaches in Understanding Vector-Borne Parasites”.

The workshop will cover cutting-edge genomic approaches to studying vector-borne pathogens. The workshop will focus on endemic and emerging vector-borne diseases in Sri Lanka and South Asia, and it will include both lectures on genomics and hands-on bioinformatics. There will be opportunities for poster presentations and networking with foreign experts.

Date: 22 – 24 March 2023

Location: Peradeniya, Sri Lanka

Topics:

  • Endemic and emerging vector-borne diseases;
  • Cutting-edge genomics;
  • Effective use of bioinformatics in vector-borne diseases.

Participants:

  • Prospective postgraduate students, registered postgraduate students, and early-career researchers interested in vector-borne diseases are welcome to apply.
  • The registration fee for participants from ICGEB Member States is €100, which includes two-star accommodation for five nights, meals, course materials, and a sightseeing tour to Sigiriya at the end of the workshop.

Funding:
