MMV and MRTC Call for Applications: Prof Ogobara K. Doumbo Fellowship
Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) and the Malaria Research and Training Center (MRTC) at the University of Science, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB), Mali, are joining forces to launch a scholarship program to enable young African researchers to develop their knowledge and skills in the field of malaria related research. In doing so, the program will continue the legacy of the late Professor Ogobara Doumbo, who was committed to building research capacity in Africa.
Objectives:
Hands-on training and skills development in the fields listed below:
- Molecular biology,
- Clinical trials,
- Biostatistics,
- Entomology
The training period will be up to 3 months. The selected candidate will be associated with researchers from the MRTC-P and integrated into teams currently conducting research.
Who can apply?
Eligible candidates are college students, recent graduates, and Disease control personnel from Africa interested in the various fields mentioned here above to help them progress in their career. They are requested to apply by filling out a form and a selection committee will be reviewing all applications.
Financial framework
The following fees are covered by the scholarship:
- One return air ticket to Bamako in case the researcher is applying from outside Mali
- Accommodation and subsistence fees to live in Bamako for 3 months
- All training fees
