AIM-COST Call for Applications: Short Term Scientific Missions (STSMs)

The Aedes Invasive Mosquito European Cooperation in Science and Tecnology (AIM-COST) action has launched the Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs)  a new call in 2022 for Grant Period 4.

STSMs are exchange visits in a host organization located in a different country than the country of affiliation by a Researcher or Innovator. STSMs aim at supporting individual mobility, strengthening existing networks and fostering international collaborations. STSMs should specifically contribute to the scientific objectives of the COST Action, whilst at the same time allowing the Grantees to learn new techniques, gain access to specific data, instruments and/or methods not available in their own institutions/organisations. At the same time, the Host will expand its international contacts and develop long lasting collaborations.

Applications will be evaluated immediately after receiving them and the high quality ones will be granted.

Eligibility:

  • postgraduate student or postdoctoral fellow engaged in a research programme, or officially affiliated to a public or private institution (Home institution);
  • 2022 STSMs can be organised anywhere in the world, provided budget availability and MC approval of the scientific justification of the specific benefit of visiting the proposed Host;
  • the Applicant and the Host institution are in different countries;
  • the minimum duration is 5 days (including travel); – There is no maximum duration, but STSM must be carried out entirety within  June 1, 2022 to October 15, 2022.

Funding details:

In calculating the requested financial contribution, applicants should take the following criteria into account:

  • A fixed daily rate for accommodation and meal expenses, calculated according to the country daily rates approved by the MC;
  • A maximum of EUR 4,000 can be granted to for each successful applicant.
