World Malaria Day 2022 – Harnessing innovation to save lives
Did you know? Malaria is a preventable and treatable disease that continues to have a devastating impact on the health and livelihood of people around the world. In 2020, there were an estimated 241 million new cases of malaria and 627,000 malaria-related deaths in 85 countries. (World Health Organisation, 2022)
As the fight against Malaria continues across the world, the Australian National University (ANU) is proud of the work undertaken by our researchers, academics and staff toward malaria elimination. On 26th April, a day after World Malaria Day 2022, we invite you to be a part of our webinar where our experts will share their experiences and reflections on efforts in malaria research at the ANU.

- Dr Kinley Wangdi – overview of malaria incidence/mortality/epidemiology, snapshot of own research in this area

- Adele Lehane – medicines for malaria and drug resistance – current status, challenges, snapshot of own research in this area
The presentations will be followed by an engaging Q&A session, where you will have the opportunity to interact with our academics directly on the topic.
