1st Women in Malaria Conference – Virtual

We are extremely happy to announce the 1st Women in Malaria (WiM) Conference, a virtual conference planned to run over 3 part-days on March 22 – 24, 2021.

The goal of the conference is to highlight the outstanding contributions of female scientists in the field, provide equal opportunities of participation to WiM from the early stages of their scientific career, and guarantee inclusiveness with a balanced participation of scientists from various countries. 

Scientific symposia topics:

  1. Evolution and ecology
  2. Host and vector parasite interactions
  3. Anti-malarial interventions
  4. Transmission biology
  5. Epidemiology and modelling
  6. Functional genomics and epigenetics
  7. Socio-economics of malaria
  8. Vector biology and control
  9. New -omics approaches in malaria

Each session will feature 2 keynotes of 20 minutes each, including both an earlier career and a more established speaker, and 3 selected short talks of 10 minutes. In addition, the WiM conference will have a poster viewer session and will include 2 workshops on peer-mentoring, leadership, and a general assembly in which we will shape the future of WiM.
