GMAP2 online consultation launched late in 2014
The Second Global Malaria Action Plan (GMAP2) will cover the timeframe 2016-2025. You are strongly encouraged to have a look and contribute by sharing your vision for a malaria-free world.
The GMAP2 will provide a global framework for action around which partners can coordinate their efforts to control and eliminate malaria. It is being developed to guide the financing and implementation of the Global Technical Strategy. Go here for further information.
The GMAP2 will be a practical, multisectoral, action-oriented document to accelerate progress towards malaria elimination goals. It will showcase innovations in how to engage new stakeholders, mobilize additional resources and overcome common implementation bottlenecks. Moreover, GMAP2 will serve as a major advocacy instrument for the achievement of a malaria-free world.
The crafting of the GMAP2 has used a highly participatory approach, and at the end of 2014 the draft GMAP2 will be be available for you to read and feedback on. MESA will keep you posted.
The process is being overseen by the GMAP2 Task Force, and closely coordinated with the elaboration of the WHO Global Technical Strategy for Malaria. The Roll Back Malaria Partnership (RBM) contracted Swiss TPH and Deloitte Consulting LLP to guide the process of developing GMAP2.
