The Amino Study intends to carry out a phase I study with healthy hospitalized people, focusing on the pharmacokinetics of the study drugs and detecting possible adverse events.

The combined therapy with artemisine (ACT) produced in Brazil by Farmanguinhos is artesunate / mefloquine (ASMQ). It has equal action on P. vivax and P. falciparum. The drug-drug interaction with primaquine and tafenoquine is still unknown. If there is no important interaction, the drugs can be used in combination to treat both types of malaria, which represents a major advance in the treatment of this disease, in areas where both species circulate.
