A study of the alteration of B cell functionality associated with malaria and its impact on susceptibility to co-infections and vaccination

Objectives

To determine the mechanisms of malaria-driven alterations of B cell subpopulations, to define subset functions and to assess their impact on susceptibility to Plasmodium, bacterial and viral co-infections and vaccine responsiveness, using stored plasma, cell and tissue samples of individuals exposed to malaria and other diseases.
