Application of a modified P. falciparum molecular barcode to track parasite genetic diversity and drug resistance markers in seasonal malaria chemoprevention settings in Central and West Africa

Objectives

  1. To determine asymptomatic P. falciparum in children 3m-5 years in northern Cameroon and South Senegal.
  2. To evaluate the prevalence and evolution of P. falciparum dhfr, dhps, pfcrt and pfmdr1 resistance markers among infected children 3m-5 years in both settings.
  3. To use genomic tools to determine and track parasite genomic diversity in SMC settings in Northern Cameroon.
