MMV Announces Call for Applications for Malaria Box Challenge Grants

Grants will support researchers in following up on Malaria Box open source data, available on ChEMBL.

This call for applications is to encourage animal model testing of the Malaria Box hit compounds and their derivatives in neglected infectious disease models, such as schistosomiasis, cryptosporidiosis, filariasis, tuberculosis, as well as other infections where there is comorbidity in children with malaria.

Malaria Eradication Scientific Alliance

MESA (the Malaria Eradication Scientific Alliance) follows-up on the malERA agenda and provides a dedicated platform for the community in order to accelerate the translation of the science of malaria eradication for impact.

With the community, MESA monitors progress and takes the next steps to advance the science of malaria eradication. MESA reviews existing evidence and supports projects on research questions critical to malaria eradication.

GMAP2 online consultation launched late in 2014

The Second Global Malaria Action Plan (GMAP2) will cover the timeframe 2016-2025. You are strongly encouraged to have a look and contribute by sharing your vision for a malaria-free world. 

The GMAP2 will provide a global framework for action around which partners can coordinate their efforts to control and eliminate malaria. It is being developed to guide the financing and implementation of the Global Technical Strategy.  Go here for further information

New Meeting Report: Operational Research on Malaria Elimination

The World Health Organization (WHO) has published the report of the planning meeting for operational research on malaria elimination held on 17–18 October 2013 in Geneva, Switzerland. This meeting is part of WHO's work on accelerating countries' transition from malaria control to malaria elimination which is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
