SARS-CoV-2 and Plasmodium co-infection and global health implications of COVID19-malaria in Africa
Objectives
The first objective is to investigate a co-infection scenario of the new coronavirus SARS-COV-2 and the malaria causing parasite, Plasmodium falciparum, and its impact on the multiplication and viability of the two pathogens.
The second objective is to determine the frequency of co-infection on the ground in two African countries: Burkina-Faso and Equatorial Guinea, and the implications from a global health perspective
