Global collaborative for coordination of gene drive research and development

Objectives

To support activities in which genetic vector control tools can be safely, ethically and rigorously studied, tested, and, if warranted, responsibly implemented at appropriate scale.

  1. Facilitation of an environment that allows for responsible gene drive research and field trials to progress;
  2. Expanded engagement of African scientists, research institutions, and stakeholders on gene drive;
  3. Best practices in gene drive developed with expert input, and accepted by the research community;
  4. Expanded engagement from other funders and multilateral institutions in gene drive for public health.
